Man Escapes After Home Invasion

BLACKFOOT--The Bingham County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who broke into a house Tuesday afternoon to the surprise of the occupants.

The man, described as a Hispanic male in his late 20's wearing a white stripe shirt and jeans, broke into the residence (FOUR HOUSES DOWN FROM US because my new address doesn't mean anything to any of you). The woman and her son were home, heard the intruder and locked themselves in the bathroom where she called the police.

Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson said the suspect fled as officers arrived on the scene. Eight officers searched the surrounding area for nearly an hour. They were unable to locate the suspect. Witnesses did see the suspect and will be able to identify him.

Okay, so I gleaned the best stuff out of the newspaper article. It was the Morning News who ran the story. We first heard about it when one of the neighbors told Brent at work. I was in Pocatello getting my hair cut when it happened. (Jan who always cut my hair, remarried and moved in Inkom.) I had locked the front door before I left for the day PLUS the neighbor straight across the road is a deputy sheriff and his car is parked in front of his house all day because he works at night. Apparently the house breaker dude came up the other side of the street because that is the first house on our side of the road and it's one of the double wides.

I like to think my trusty guard dog barks like a pit bull. Okay so she barks back and forth with the baby pit bull next door. Close enough?
