Wish you were here

It started out as heavy rain, early Monday morning, then snowed until it decided to stick and then kept right on snowing. I took this picture Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. November 9. I don't know how to use the snowblower. The snow was predicted. We took a walk around the greenbelt in our shirt sleeves about 4 p.m. on Saturday with Bob and Marilyn. The weather changed fast.

And the Beets Went On and On

My home away from home. I got really good with the beet knife.
First we finished one line and then started on a second row of beets.

Yeah, I unloaded every single one of these.

O Canada, it's just across the river

I never in a million years dreamed I'd ever get to see Niagra Falls. Note how excited Scarlett is about the trip.
They give you raincoats as part of the admission to do things. Believe me you need them.

This is the Maid of the Mist that we rode into the base of Horseshoe Falls. Talk about a spectacular view!

This is the American Falls. The more spectacular view is in Canada where we took this photo.

This is Horseshoe Falls in Canada. We had dinner in this restuarant that is a lot like the Space Needle in Seattle and got a fabulous view of the falls from there.

I guess people actually go looking for the "This is the Spot" monument where Joseph Smith had his vision. They have a great walkway that takes you into some trees and underbrush. I am sure things have changed a lot in 200 years. But after seeing the size of the cabin that family was crammed in you can easily imagine going out into this area to be alone.

It was a misty rainy day, but this is the Palmyra temple with a clear view of the Sacred Grove. It is the only temple with a clear window. But then consider the view. It's out in the middle of no where.

This is a replica of the cabin that the Joseph Smith family was living in when Angel Moroni visited. It is supposed to be on the orginal foundation.

And yes we have pictures of me, but I would druther show you the pictures I took.

Your kids have second cousins

Your cousin Tiana had a little girl the end of August, Parker Rose.

Your other cousin Travis will be a father again within the week with a little boy.

On my side of the family, Jana is expecting her baby in the spring.

Uncle Blake dropped in on his way through this last weekend. He has been bee tending in Ohio.

Aunt Mary has over 20 different breeds of rabbits. She doesn't know the exact number she owns.

Aunt Marie spent the summer getting a formal diningroom built onto her house in Chandler.

Camilyn is off to BSU for college. She must recognize the importance of attending a school with a football team that is capable of winning!

Fair Week

This nice young couple stumbled upon us at the fair. Note I pulled off three blue ribbons this year. I put a few flowers in the fair at the last minute.

The latest Cake

I had to shoot it
at this angle because
the professional
photographer was a
pain in the you know
what and I had to keep her our of the shot! The flowers curled around the cake. It was a miracle the photographer didn't knock it over, she came close a half dozen times.

Iowa's Famous Summer Sauna

The nightly rock
and roll with the
storms was an
experience!

Mom and Dad did Iowa in August. We traveled in style. There is nothing like the red limo with the built in bed and refrigerator.
