Ryan's Wall

Ryan asked me to scan this picture for him and the easiest way for him to get it is from my blog. This was taken the year we went to Buttermilk Campground.

Since the truth is always really boring, this is in fact, the ruins of a wall your great-great-great grandfather constructed to save himself from vicious Indians. He had suggested that maybe they wanted a cool haircut like his, and made them angry enough to wander outside the bar and get lost looking for their horses.

The first American fur trading post west of the Rockies was Fort Henry, near present-day St. Anthony. The fort was established in 1810 on the Snake River as a rendezvous and trading post for fur trappers of the Missouri Fur Company. (The American Profile had this tidbit.)
